The West Haven Rotary Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 2002 as a distinct and separate entity from the Rotary Club of \Vest Haven. The first contribution to the West Haven Ro­tary Foundation, Inc. was a $10,000 gift made by John Wisniewski, a long-time member of the club. 

 

 The West Haven Rotary Foundation, Inc. was established to help the Rotary Club of West Haven better achieve its goals. 

As a tax-exempt, 501-(C)(3) charitable organiza­tion, the West Haven Rotary Foundation, Inc., unlike the Rotary Club of West Haven, is eligi­ble to receive donations from corporate and private foundations. In addition, individual do­nors can make donations to an "Endowment Fund" within the West Haven Rotary Founda­tion, Inc. - ensuring that their gift will make a positive difference in perpetuity!

A strong West Haven Rotary Foun­dation, Inc. will enable the club to take on pro­jects that span several years, or need greater investment than the club can raise in the short term. \Vhile the Rotary Club of \Vest Haven operates with an annual budget, which restricts in duration major donations or community pro­jects approved by the club's Board of Directors, the Foundation can make mul­tiple-year investments, or take on large projects that require significant funds.
